How to Find the Perfect Apartment in Tampa

Tampa is one of the fastest growing regions in Florida. And a number of apartments are available all over the city. Use these following five apartment hunting tips when looking for apartments for rent in Tampa.

1). Look for Bargains in Less Populated Areas of the City

Most of the population of Tampa is concentrated in the center of the city. And the prices of apartments in areas like Bayshore and Hyde Park can be a little pricey. If you are looking for a bargain, then you will want to venture to the northern and southern parts of the city to find affordable apartments. Look at areas in north Tampa near the University of South Florida for some deals. Also, venture down south of Gandy Boulevard towards MacDill Airforce Base to find some deals. You should be able to find a number of quality apartments below the average apartment rental price.

2). Search for Apartments During The Off Season

Most people go searching for apartments during the summer months. Therefore, you may find more luck getting a deal during the winter. You can be especially lucky searching for apartments during the holiday season when people are more focused on gift shopping rather than apartment hunting.

3). Looking at New Apartments

Tampa has a number of new apartments being built all over the city. Many of these new apartment complexes want to have 100% capacity when they open. And that means a number of these properties will have move-in and discount opportunities. If you see a new apartment under construction, contact the leasing offer and see what deals are available.

4). Check for Apartment Deals

There are a number of apartment complexes that will advertise their deals right on the properties. Some of the deals offered include free rent for a month, discounts for longer leases and move-in specials. Simply drive around the city and take note of all the complexes you find advertising deals. Then contact the leasing office and see if the deal is still available.

5). Look Around the University of South Florida and University of Tampa Areas

Tampa is home to two large universities – USF and UT. Both of these schools have thousands of students who rent apartments off campus. And a number of these apartments have high turnover rates. Many of the property owners would prefer to have a long-term tenant. It’s a good idea to contact leasing offices with properties in these areas. They will be much more likely to rent to you if you are interested in a 12-month lease.

Tampa has thousands of apartments in every price range. You can find places near the water and in popular areas like Westshore. Spend a little time looking and you’ll have no problem finding the perfect Tampa apartment to call home.
